Day 01:  Cape Town

On arrival in Cape Town, you will make your way to the Garden Centre area and check into the lovely Mountain Manor Guest House – Self Catering Unit.

Mountain Manor Guest House

Situated on the lower slopes of the now more famous natural wonder of the world, Table Mountain, Mountain Manor is extremely well situated to easy access into Cape Town City Centre and most of Cape Town’s Tourist attractions. Mountain Manor is graded as a three star establishment by the Tourism Board. It has recently had an overhaul and now sports a fantastic new dining room area both indoors and outdoors as well as a new bar and entertainment lounge. The Harrow House – Mountain Manor’s Cape Colonial Apartments sits within substantial walled grounds protected by excellent security, ensuring privacy, peace of mind and safe parking. In addition to private verandahs and balconies, the Colonial Apartments also have a large pool and entertainment area and plenty of communal space to stretch out and enjoy the surroundings.

Day 02:  Cape Town

Full Day at your own leisure to explore this stunning city. Maybe hop on the My City Red Bus "Hop-On-Hop-Off”, which is the best way to get to know Cape Town and the history of the area. Also suggest the Full Day Cape Peninsula Tour, a Full Day Winelands or a Township or Mandela Walking Tour.

Day 03:  Oudtshoorn

Depart Cape Town early in the morning and drive on the R62 to Oudtshoorn, stopping on route at the world famous Ronnie’s Sex Shop for a cold beer before getting back on the road. Arrive in Oudtshoorn in the late afternoon, check in and make your way through to the Cango Caves, where you can either do the normal tour or take on the Adventure Route, but not for the faint hearted.


  1. Ride an Ostrich – once the ostrich capital of the world, Oudtshoorn and ostriches are synonymous to this day. Visit one of theostrich farms, stand on an ostrich egg, buy a feather duster – all of these are compulsory activities for any first time visitor to Oudtshoorn.
  2. Try aMeerkat Safari in Oudtshoorn offers daily wild habituated meerkat tours. These tours that commence at sunrise and are weather dependent. Meerkats form part of the so-called Shy 5, which also includes the bat-eared fox, the aardvark, porcupine and aardwolf. The meerkat tours last between 2-3 hours and booking is essential.
  3. Dive with crocodiles - This is a wild experience offered at theCango Wildlife Ranch. You'll be quite safe in your specially designed cagewhen you are lowered into a crystal clear heated pool inhabited by 4-meter crocodiles. A dive will last approximately 10 minutes, but seeing the snapping jaws of a 4m long Nile croc is sure to give you an adrenalin rush of note for hours afterwards!
  4. Explore theCango Caves- 29km from Oudtshoorn, the Cango Caves are situated in a limestone ridge parallel to the Swartberg Mountains. Discover dripstone caverns, with their vast halls and towering formations.
  5. Take anOudtshoorn hot air balloon rideat sunrise and see the beauty of the Karoo from a different perspective.
  6. Hike through naturally beautiful landscapes. The Swartberg Mountain range region has been nominated as a future World Heritage Site and is one of the Cape Floral Region Protected areas. Succulent lovers will enjoy exploring the Gamkaberg Nature Reserve in the Red Mountain Range.
  7. Take the family out for lunch and ride a camel –Wildewandelis a family friendly restaurant with plenty of attractions beside good food – ideal for those travelling with the little ones.

De Zeekoe Guest House

This beautiful, owner–managed African farm is nestled near the town of Oudtshoorn, between the majestic Swartberg and Outeniqua mountains in the heart of the Klein Karoo. It boasts over 2000 hectares and is part of the world's 17 hotspots with 3 overlapping flower zones. De Zeekoe's old colonial homestead is over 150 years old. Restored to its former splendor, its tastefully decorated rooms all open onto cool verandas, from where guests can enjoy a spectacular view of the gardens, vast planes of the Karoo to the Outeniqua and Swartberg mountains.

Day 04:  Knysna

This morning after a lovely breakfast, you will depart Oudtshoorn and making your way to along the Garden Route to the charming Oyster Capital of Knysna, a bohemian town built on the Northern shores of a warm water estuary fed by the Knysna River. Nestled between the Outeniqua Mountains and the Indian Ocean, Knysna is filled with history, magic and adventure. You will be spoilt for choice of activities to suit young and old. From the mystical Knysna Forest where it is rumoured that the last few free roaming forest elephants in South Africa still wanders, to taking a boat trip out on to the Knysna Estuary which is home to the Knysna Seahorse. Explore the Knysna Heads where the Indian Ocean flows into the estuary and meets up with the Knysna River. A visit to the Millwood Goldmine (off Rheenendal Road), the Old Goal Museum and the Millwood House (in town) will tell you the tales of the town's rich history. Knysna also boasts with world class golf courses, stunning gourmet restaurants; spas's and even a local Beer Brewery! A township tours is also not to be missed! Not to mention all the local annual festivals: Pink Loerie, Pick 'n Pay Knysna Oyster Festival, Rastafarian Earth Festival and Gastronomica!

You will have two days to explore this town and area.

Oyster Creek Self Catering

Oyster Creek Lodge is found nestled between the tall trees of The Point – an exclusive suburb in South Africa’s premier tourist destination, Knysna. Surrounded by the Knysna Lagooon, the superior four star accredited accommodation boasts 270’ views of the estuary. The lodge operates as both bed and breakfast and self-catering facility, with a friendly and relaxing atmosphere. Oyster Creek Lodge, surrounded by the picturesque view of The Heads. The décor is inspired by the Knysna Forest, adding natural beauty to the lodge. Spend your evenings lazing around the fireplace, enjoying a traditional South African braai. Our communal lounge area is equipped with DSTV. The self-catering unit is situated downstairs, leading out into the garden. It is a few metres away from the lagoon at sping-tide. It consists of 1 bedroom with a double bed and en-suite bathroom, as well as a sleeper couch – this makes it ideal for a small family. The self-catering unit is equipped with a TV, fridge, microwave, small gas stove, necessary crockery and cutlery, braai facility and full access to the pool area.

Day 05:  Knysna

After a lovely breakfast at the Knysna Log-In you will have the full day to explore this area and see everything that is on offer in this Oyster Capital off the Garden Route.

Day 06:  Tsitsikamma

After breakfast you will depart and head towards the lush canopies of the Tsitsikamma National Park, but on route, you should stop at the Jukani Wildlife Sanctuary. Visiting Jukani Wildlife Sanctuary is not just about seeing lions, tigers, leopards, wild dogs etc but it is also an informative experience. Our experienced and trained guides will take you on an informative tour of the sanctuary and introduce you to all of our feline and other wildlife "family” m embers. Not only will they share their knowledge and experience of each species with you, but you will also meet the individual personalities. It really is a fantastic experience.

After this epic wildlife stop, you will carry on to the Tsitsikamma National Reserve, an expansive coastal reserve on the Garden Route, known for its indigenous forests, dramatic coastline and the Storms River Mouth. After settling into your accommodation the afternoon can be spent exploring the depths of the forest and it’s creatures on optional guide nature walk (approximately 2 hours). The Tsitsikamma lies between the sea and the Tsitsikamma Mountains and stretches from the Bloukrans River in the West to Clarkson in the East. Beautiful indigenous forest, protected by the State, is home to century’s old trees such as Yellowwood, Stinkwood, Hard Pear, Ironwood, Kamassi and many others. Tsitsikamma is a khoi word meaning "place of abundant or sparkling water". The area is covered in large tracts of indigenous forest, commercial plantation and Fynbos. Deep river gorges cleft the plateau as they make their way down to the sea, creating spectacular waterfalls and deep kloofs.

Tsitsikamma Village Inn

Tsitsikamma Village Inn, located in the village of Storms River on the beautiful Garden Route, offers a unique form of accommodation. Most of our rooms are situated around a typical Village green. These buildings represent many of the different building styles that were to be found in the Cape Colony during the 1800s. The De Oude Martha Restaurant serves hearty and delicious breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Other popular on-site restaurants include the characterful Hunter’s Pub and the informal Cafe Bacchus. Next door to the hotel, is the Marilyn’s 60s Diner, where you’ll enjoy a trip down memory lane with the vintage motorcycles, cars, memorabilia and a typical diner menu. Our hotel is a great base from which to explore the natural attractions and adventure options of the region and there are many ways to do this from hiking trails, mountain biking and horse rides to tree-top canopy tours and bungee jumping. Between excursions, guests are welcome to relax around the sparkling swimming pool, visit the hair salon or entertain themselves in the games room. There is complimentary unlimited wi-fi internet access available throughout the hotel. In-room facilities include air-conditioning/heating, electrical blankets, television and a tea/coffee station. The Hotel is renowned for its good food, old world charm and has been a favourite for many a year!

Full Day in the stunning Tsitsikamma Forest, where you can go and explore Natures Valley. Good idea would be to have dinner at the beautiful and famous Marilyb’s 60’s Diner. It is quirky, Vintage, Classic, Nostalgic, with a juke box and more…definitely worth the visit.
